It's been a month since the move, and I'm gradually getting settled in to my new life and a new routine, which also means a return to fangirling. I realized I really hadn't played any sort of video game since a "delightful" trip to the DMV in February (so much fun, I got to go back the next day! 9_9), so it was fun to pick up Pokemon X, change into

And whaaaaat?? Utena scrunchies too?? I had no idea this was so "in" for merchandising these days! Bizarre-- I guess someone out there figures if fans are going to be nostalgic for shows from the 90s, they might be nostalgic for the (...tween girl?) fashion accessories too XD

Game of Thrones, eh? That's one of those shows that I keep thinking I should check out, just because it's managed that remarkable feat of making a once-nerdy genre mainstream. But there's really been nothing that's hooked me in yet. I dunno. My "Live-Action TV Jams" lately have been Better Call Saul (Most Excellent spin-off ever!) and Agent Carter (but it was a miniseries and it ended toooo soooooon).
Eighty Days looks like an interesting read. I enjoy well-written historical dramatizations (like this, and while you might say I'm biased, I'll have you know that I read it *before* I lived here. :P) I just finished reading this, and I'm still in that wonderful haze where I don't dare to start reading a new book yet. Have you read any Le Guin? She really excels at writing sci-fi/fantasy that is more ( ... )

I KNOW I KNOW-- don't revoke my otaku card! orz At least my Collection is all out in the open now... in the safety of the bedroom ^^; I'd say I've acquired about 70% of this stuff since 2012-- before that, I kept telling myself there wasn't very much out there I wanted! This is what I get for living the life of a fangirl hermit-- and missing out on the flood of doujinshi, artbooks, and other stuff from the shows I really care about from 15 years ago, I guess? XD;; I'll just uh... sandwich Utena #3 in there, that way the numbers are sequential. D.N.Angel probably could have used some swordfights, tbh... wait, what do you mean, "that's not how it works??" ^^; My "want" list is ever-expanding though.. that shelf isn't going to be large enough pretty soon! Ooh, the BEST thing would be to have a secret room hidden behind a bookcase-- you press a button and boom, there's your Collection and yes, that means I think you should totally do that, rotflYeah, so GoT might suffer from the same problem as "Lost." And as a native California, my sole complaint about living in Japan for three years was the lack of good Mexican food. But there was plenty of Indian places and that is my second-favorite cuisine which, ironically, I haven't had since being re-stationed in San Diego.

Mmm, Indian... haven't looked into it too much out here yet, come to think of it, but you better believe I'm going to :) We have found a fair share of (DELICIOUS!) middle-eastern kabab places, at least. I just... feel sorry for all the people in the world who have never had the chance to try really good carnitas or adovada; they don't know what they're missing! XD
