i was supposed to try writing my own version of the poems i will be teaching. i'd already written an "i am from" poem in high school (part of why i wanted to teach it) and i wrote and "i remember" poem earlier for my teaching poetry class, so i had four more poems to write tonight. i haven't had the chance to just sit down and try these until now.
