The whole point of the push to stop referring to data "theft" as "piracy", is the fact that the present state of actual piracy isn't romantic at all - it's brutal and bloody. Piracy *shouldn't* sound romantic at all!

Most of us have it wrong about how piracy actually was in the 17th-18th centuries, anyway. The movies have "romanticized" it to the point of warping history in our minds.
