All day today people have been wishing me a "happy 4th of July." I even got a text message saying that. And I've seen people's facebook statuses say things to the same affect (effect? That's one I always get confused on

much like other holidays...the true meaning is gone and severed from the actual intent of the holiday. instead of it being a day in which we celebrate our..*gasp* independence from british tyranny...we make it a weekend long festival of grilling, fireworks, get togethers...blah blah blah. because today was the pre-4th day...and everyone has off tomorrow (ha)..it's like saying.."have a good weekend"...but since it's the fourth weekend...it's just a longer weekend.
...or it could be similar to people saying merry christmas in late november.
interesting trivia fact about me:
Fact...Mean Girls was the first movie I rented through Netflix.
I guess I never really got too into the 4th as some big party thing. I'm only in it for the fireworks. :) Love me some fireworks!
That's funny about Mean Girls. It's actually a funny flick, huh?
Theres one thing I noticed tonight that is really, REALLY bothering me though...During the scene where Cady (Lohan) and Karen (Seyfried) are sitting on Regina's bed talking about what Karen is good at and she talks about being able to tell whether it will rain by how her boobs feel...Lindsay is completely mouthing Karen's lines along with her before saying her own! That's like, THE most tragic thing an actor can do! It's terrible.
Honey, I am down right ashamed of myself for taking this long to reply. Things have been kind of a blur for me this summer and I haven't been on LJ that much...as you can tell.
I guess it could actually be perceived as a good thing since it means I'm actually DOING things this summer. Usually I just sit around inside away from the sun watching TV. And UGH, I HATE the TV. lol.
My 4th was...nothingness actually. LOL. Well, wait. I did go to the beach with my best friend Troy. But then it stormed and we had to leave. And then there weren't even any fireworks because the city I live in has a different summer celebration before the 4th called "Steamboat Days" and they do the cities fireworks then instead of the 4th. LAME.
I miss keeping up with you!
I am going to post a couple catch-up posts on my journal here and then I'll head over to your journal and catch-up on what I've missed with your lovely self. :)))
I hear that. I feel the exact same way. Actually, to be honest, it still hasn't grown on me completely...I have my couple songs that I adore, but overall it doesn't even compare to any of his previous albums. I'm still hoping it grows on me more. Not sure though. :(

Finally listening to Jason Mraz's newest album, kind of digging on it so far. Love the variance in sound.

Anyways, have a great night/week/month
