PLOT UPDATE
Phase One Start!:
Alright folks, it's time for your plot update! As you may have noticed, something is going down in the capital of Solinth (the country of which Solace is a part). Following
these two transmissions, the city's soldiers have gone on high alert: they're scurrying through the streets like their lives depend on it, and they just might.
The foreign population of Solace is privy to a series of jumbled transmissions between the 28th and 29th, many of which include sounds of conflict and death before crackling into static white noise. Soldiers in town murmur worriedly to themselves: two days, only two days, that's what they say over and over again in a fearful mantra.
Two days until airships can reach them from the capital, and that terror only mounts as the barrier over the skies of Solace begins to fracture. They're tiny cracks at first, invisible from so very high, but then shimmering red shards begin to chip away, littering the streets like a rain of rubies.
And it may be no comfort at all that the collars are malfunctioning - one hour you might be perfectly fine, and then another...something bizarre has happened to you. Effects are flickering into and out of the lives of the foreigners, and no two are experiencing these changes at the same rate or frequency. Oh dear...
Transmission 3:
Where the hell'd that little bastard...
[thump, thump, growl]
By the Goddess, he's-
[the words are cut off by a strangled cry and a resounding crack. the word demon slips out, barely audible, before the transmission cuts into static again]
Transmission 4:
You really think we're starting an Empire? Avatica's always been-
Quiet down! You really want somebody to overhear you questioning them?
Transmission 5:
What we're doing, it's wrong, isn't it?
Transmission 6:
This war will see the birth of an Empire!
Transmission 7:
You've disposed of them, haven't you?
Sire, you know we can't yet...
I mislike all this waiting. You've heard what that dog of hers is capable of - you've seen it.
Majesty, rest assured, he cannot be revived without arcane magicks and none here will aid him.
Other transmissions will be the indescernible noise of conflict, quick snippets of heated battle that likewise die down to static.
ETC:
All foreigners will recieve a notice personally addressed to them in their journal, stating that a young woman by the name of C.C. can assure the preservation of their memories. The notice details her name, a brief description, and how to contact her. It indicates that those who have their memories stored by Miss C.C. will be able to regain them should they perish at any time during their stay.
