She had always thought it was fitting that her parents had named her Ophelia.
A crazy name for a crazy girl.
Her mother had called Ophelia one of the greatest literary heroines of all time.
Her dad had called Ophelia one of the great literary loons of all time.
She agrees with her dad.
She is no heroine.
Heroines don't roam the streets, hallowed eyed and sad. Heroines are brave and true, with hearts full of virtue and goodness.
Loon is a much more fitting title for her because here she is; Sitting in a dark alley, her hair in her face and a needle in her arm. She can't think of anyone but herself and her sad eyed hero who she knows is better off without her. Her sad eyed hero who deserves better.
Better than a crazy girl, with a crazy name.
