Today is 12 December 2005...my Dad's birthday. Had he lived, he would have been 102 today. He died too young: age 63. He should have had many more good years, but he was a heavy smoker and died of lung cancer. He did get to enjoy meeting and loving his grand daughter. He should have been able to meet and love his grand son, but he didn't. He ( Read more... )

Hi aunt Barb. I agree with you about the smoking. That's what killed my dad (Richard's brother) too. I still really, really miss him. I was reading your previous posting about the remaining Scrivano family and I too didn't know about uncle John and aunt Dorothy. We have never heard from any of their children. Cathy Scrivano gives me updates about aunt Frances though. It may ease Richard's mind to know that Sam was as bright as a tack right up to the end. Nothing wrong with his memory. Even in the hospital, with tube and needles everywhere, he was still cracking jokes. He had everyone laughing. That's how I will always remember him, his great sense of humor and his chocolate bars.
