Feeling less grinchy now after some good news yesterday and some lovely feedback this morning :-) Hell, I might even write some cards later today! I'm very glad you enjoyed the fic, it was a lot of fun to write but then, these two always are.
So I was very curious when I read your summary. Unsure of how this was gonna go, I proceeded. And damn am I glad I did.
First, your style is absolutely beautiful. It's succinct but still holds fast to really beautiful details. I lie the image of Maura at the door. It is gorgeous. Snow in her hair and on her coat. Sigh. She's a dream.
An how she tended to Jane without making a fuss without making Jane feel pitiful. It was perfect Maura.
I loved their christmas dinner and the Charlie brown tree. It was so gorgeous. Seriously. Amazing job. I'm swooning at this.
I like to think that Maura is the only one Jane would ever show her soft side to ;-) Put my tree up and baked xmas cookies today so am also feeling pleasantly festive. Thanks for reading!
Hi. Just letting you know I've been reading your fic for a while, while travelling, but this one really touched me. I loved everything Maura did for Jane here, and the realism addressing Jane requiring multiple surgeries, which is something I don't think I'd seen elsewhere.
Anyway, largely as a result of that, I've just bought an e book of your new novel. So, props to fandom for helping me find you and making me money... it's starting to make me think I should try and do that myself.
Thank you for the lovely feedback, I hope the fics helped you to have fun on your travels! This show rarely considers the consequences of anything it does to its characters. I despair of its writers at times but they do leave fic writers with plenty of blanks to fill in so it's not all bad!
I really appreciate your support of Snowbound. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you enjoy it. If you ever do get a novel finished, I'd highly recommend Bold Strokes as a publisher! Have a look at their main page for guidance and an FAQ on their submission process.
