Playtesting 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming's Exploding Aces module Veronique Fay's Very Bad Day this Friday. I just finished writing a complete draft of the adventure. It's a one-shot meant to be played in 4 to 6 hours. It is also an introduction to the beginning of a campaign if a longer game is desired. There are lots of colorful pre-generated characters ( Read more... )

I'm confused what the picture has to do with the gaming? Or maybe I should say that I'm clarifying that she's the one that helped? Still not sure what THAT picture of her has to do with gaming, though. Or is it you just bragging? :)

Veronique helped me with the adventure. She's also posing for the art on the "Exploding Aces" RPG module. In the adventure one of her character's backgrounds is Outlaw Biker. She sent me this pic as a joke of what kind of outlaw biker she is in real life. She's never ridden a motorbike only posed with them.

Veronique is a fan of RPGs. Pathfinder/D&D is how I met her. She's a big fan of the 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming supplements for Pathfinder which I've collaborated on.

I made a suggestion to the publisher that we should write a game module with Veronique as the star. He liked the idea so I asked V if she'd consider being involved. She was enthusiastic about the whole venture. She wants to do a 10 minute web movie for the game if possible.

The adventure is modern genre with an Apocalyptic setting.

Huh. Okay.

I guess my first reaction was some T&A to sell something, which is why I asked. Further, not having read anything of yours so having no basis for comparison, I also thought (was worried) about using T&A to sell something that wasn't fully developed or whatever.

So, I applaud the idea and the web movie could be fun! But for myself, I would need an explanation about the T&A. No matter how good the eye candy is, I can't help but think it's to distract me as a reader from something.

It could just be me.

Sex appeal certainly has its place in marketing and isn't a small consideration. Art (especially cover art) is one of the greatest expenses in publishing an RPG. If no one picks up your game they'll never find out if you've written crap or not.

V has done some RPG covers. I thought she'd look great on ours.
