I want to go see the new Mel Gibson's movie. I want to see it one because I love movies, but also to see what the hype is about. I know it is over two hours of watching someone get beat up. What do I think of that? From what I can tell Mel Gibson seems fanatical (SP?). I have not see the film yet, but from what I understand it I can see why Jewish ( Read more... )

I have not seen the film either, but of everyone I know who has seen the film and all of whom are church-going folk... I'm not sure what I'll get out of the film, as I am going to see it for the hype and for the film that it is.

I am not a religious person, granted I attend and work at DePaul, a Vincentian, Catholic institution. I am interested in it for the cinematography, story (which I don't fully know as I am not a theologian) and cohesiveness of the telling of the story.

I'm not seeing it for affirmation, an epiphinay or a sudden moment of "aha! thats what I never understood about Jesus, God, etc" and be converted. Nor can I take anyone too seriously that has declared his wife will be going to hell because they don't share the same Christian/Catholic philosophy.

More once I've seen the film.

I think it an interesting time for such a movie to come out...we are in a sense in "Holy War" then there is the battle of gay marriages...oh lets not forget the other things happening in the world. The Haitian presentant being asked to step down with Powell stating he should...any comments on this? I think it intersting

Should be real interesting once Bush realizes the Constitution is nothing to play with based on your whims.

I don't think he will that is what is scarey about it, what is scarier is that he might just have enough backing to pull it off

Well I dunno if Bush would back it,but having das Terminator for prez would be a boost for the republican party, reminding people of the Reagan era... former actor turned politician getting elected to president.. great charisma etc.

Keep in mind if Bush backs this bill he would be a traitor to all his ideologies of keeping America for Americans, etc.
