The response about it being so easy is because the owner already cured him (of being "dead", heh!), so the vet doesn't have a lot of work ahead of her. :-)
The back story is that this is a common presentation for tick paralysis. Something in the saliva (we think - no one's isolated it yet) of Dermacentor ticks causes paralysis. Pull those beasties off and the animal recovers quickly, often within hours. We're lucky here in the States because our ticks are wimpy. Australian tick paralysis can require mechanical ventilator support for days or weeks.
