Since right around Christmas, I have been trying to figure out how to make tortillas. Specifically I am interested in making flour tortillas, because I prefer their taste. You say "the first time I tried making flour tortillas". Does that imply that you've now gotten better, or that you haven't tried again since?

If you've gotten better, I'd love to know the secret...

As for tortilla presses -- you can get them for around $25 if I remember correctly. Make sure to get one the size you want. The easiest ones to find were 5-6" ones, but I had to hunt to find a 7-8" one to put on my Christmas list.
