I think the_seijin once explained something to me along the lines of minority groups adopting views held by the majority in order to disassociate themselves from their status as minority group, or something? I'm pretty sure that was an over-generalisation and I missed the key point; the concept was used to explain why my immigrant mother looked down on other immigrants, and disagreed with the whole immigration policy in general. Sort of like a "I support your views, so don't group me with them!" thing. Not sure how much that applies here, but oh well, there you go anyway.

Whaddya mean by 'nice' vs. 'friendly'? What would you expect out of a 'friendly' retail person, during that however-short-exchange? :S

I dun know, drug addicts are not disguisting and I guess if you think about why one would turn to drugs then its harder to tag ppl disgusting. Though i dun know if i would say drug addicts are a minority group, cause that would mean there is some kind of social community happening within the drug addicts ppl. I guess people in general are judgemental to others regardless of beig in a minority group or not...

hmm.. but it's not like all gay ppl are in a big community either. they're all over the place. and i recon a lot of drug addicts are lawyers and stuff.

i guess everyone is in their own lil minority grups anyway. like anime fan or gamer or something, which some ppl look down on. i'm probably being judgemental by pointing out the more obviuos "groupings"
