I handed in three game pitches today. I only needed to do one, but I did three. I spent 5 or 6 hours of my life doing work that I didn't have to do
( Read more... )
I read the first line, and was about to say "doesn't that mean you're enjoying school?", until I read the third line (I am so glad I read things to the end, most times.) XD;
Naw, it's awesome to hear you're liking what you're doing now! Congrats (if that's the right word).
Sounds awesome. You're still doing that AIE course aren't you? I was under the impression they all did the same game, or is the pitching separate to the assignment?
Ahh I see, thought it might be something like that. Well good luck with your pitches.
Yep, I'm still doing game subjects, this semester I'm doing a 4th year subject Advanced Game Tech where we're making a FPS, and I'm also doing a year-long games project for Torus Games making a game engine of sorts.
i was snooping around the latrobe open day to check out the gaming subjects there.. and decided to go to AIE. Dunno if it was the right choice, but I'm quite happy at the moment, as you can see :P
It'd be interseting to catch up and exchange notes one day.
WOW! Yeah I was always under the impression that uni was just "that thing u do" to you. Glad to hear ur actually enjoying classes AND looking forward to more the next day. Feels great hey :D
I've a lot to say thats bad about our 'higher education' systems... but nobody wants to hear another tired tirade on the merits of academia over economics
So, anyway, doesn't it make you think that perhaps you should have been focused on making computer games in the first place?
But really, there's little to regret in life - if you took the straight quick path you wouldn't have met the friends you have now nor your girlfriend, so its all a worthwhile voyage
It just so happens you found a place to click into comfortably - something that not everyone gets to do in life, so congratulations

I'm a cynic and an idealist, thats my space :D But thats neither here nor there in the world of learning
maybe I'll find something maybe I won't, but I won't seriously stress about where I am at the time being
