It's quite the same for my own world, the acidity of the rain always left it much... well, dirtier is a good way to put it.

Acidity of the rain? That is worrying. I think ours simply didn't last long in the standard Ankh-Morpork dirt. It was never long before carts ran over it and people trod it into the ground and it soon became slushy and disgusting.

Although on the Night Watch, you often got to see the first snow before that.

Yes, I remember when I was younger it was more along those lines, though I'm not sure what Ankh-Morpork is. Then the world became more polluted and after the organ epidemic the air was practically ruined with decay.

It- this new white snow is a marked improvement I must say.
