Twilight: Does it really deserve the Hype?

I have to admit to having been very curious about the Twilight series of books by Stephanie Meyers. She's been compared to JK Rowling and the phenomenon of her books has been compared to Harry Potter with a large online fan base and people dressing up as characters from the stories for book release parties. Well, I'm about 2/3 done now, so I decided to go ahead and read your post on it. I pretty much agree with everything you said. Not having read the ending yet, at this point I'm not too caught up in the idea of reading them all, but I'll see what I think when the end leaves me hanging.

I don't think the end really does leave anything hanging. But, neither did Sorcerer's Stone seem to when I first read it...so, that's why I'm wondering whether there is anything more to the story. If there is more, I would read it, but I don't want to keep reading the same basic story over and over. I don't like Bella and Edward well enough to make that worthwhile.
