True Blood: It's not just for vampires

When I was little, I was more afraid of vampires than practically any other type of scary creature. It's interesting that they've become more nuanced, transitioning from evil monster to antihero in recent years. We've seen this in the vampires of Anne Rice, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Twilight. When I was visiting jaderabbit and her family, we began ( Read more... )

Vampires are captured by the human criminal element and drained of blood which is to be sold like heroine.

Shouldn't that be 'sold like heroin'?

Never seen the show, presumably because it isn't shown over here yet. But that is sounding very familiar. I am guessing that this series is based on Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Mystery series. If not then she definitely needs to be seeing a lawyer and suing someone. ;-)

I read the first book in the series a few years ago, but for some reason it just didn't grab my interest and I never bothered with the rest.

I may keep an eye open for the tv series coming on over here though.

Ah, yes! That must be what it's based upon because I'm pretty sure that Sookie's surname is Stackhouse. If it makes its way over there, you should definitely give it a try. The chemistry between the actors playing Sookie and Bill is very good! :)

I've never heard of the series True Blood - I don't have HBO, and I'm just out of it sometimes. But it sounds really good. I bet my daughter would like that now that she has finished watching all the Angel episodes.

"Angelina Adopts Vampire Baby". *rotfl*

*lol* That's perfect!

Yeah, but just by way of warning, since it's HBO there are some very explicit sex scenes that seem rather gratuitous. I know your daughter is in college, but I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to watch this with my parents. ;-)

I have heard of the series but haven't had the time to watch. I know it comes on HBO,I think. Everyone seems to love it.

Apparently that wasn't just a very realistic skull on that stage...

*lol* Thanks for the link!

I suppose that knowing you're holding a real skull in that scene adds extra weight to the words...
