I really love the inside-Sarah's-head fics you write! It's very erotic and makes the OT3-ness plausible...because the reader gets to think it through with her! This was wonderfully well done.

I still don't know if exploring Sara's POV makes those OT3 tricker or easier... On the one hand, I have to 'sell' the threesome and the incest - from Michael or Lincoln's POV, we can assume the incest is granted, but from Sara's? Yeah, she may demand an explanation, and I can't elude it. On the other hand, it's the occasion to (try to) explain it.

It's very erotic

I ♥ you. I really, really didn't want to make it too graphic or explicit. It's the kind of fic where less is definitely more, and I've had difficulties to write those recently. So \o/

(I'm sorry for the late reply. I don't know where time is going, but it goes there fast :-/)

The genesis of M/S/L!! It certainly has a ring of truth to it - Sara is naturally shocked and Michael is helpless as she makes demands on Lincoln...to place herself in Michael'a place perhaps?

Whatever the psychological overtones this is both intriguing and hot!! And you do write OT3 fics So. Damn. Well. :)

You mean, the umpteenth genesis of M/S/L, right? ;) There was one in The Sum of the Parts, another one in the Secretive 'verse (though if I remember it correctly, it basically boiled down to "Michael had mentioned to her that Linc and he had a peculiar relationship and Sara was, Oh? Okay, no big deal" /self-mocking.) I'm not sure I bothered with a genesis in all the one shots not belonging to the a specific 'universe'... OK, let's say it's the third genesis of M/S/L. Though, if I keep writing in this series, I'd like to not make it threesome-y. Polyamory, yes, obviously, but not threesome-y - there's a difference, at least in my mind.

to place herself in Michael'a place perhaps?

Most definitely. She does take a bit further a need to know how Lincoln would 'feel' to Michael, doesn't she?

*hugs*

Well possibly; but when I'm enjoying some threesome-y goodness I don't waste time on counting!! ;)

Threesome-y versus Polyamoury has very subtle differences. You need to write this! :)

*hugs*

Oh this is so well-done! I like how there's not some big revelation or shocker. Like you said, "it's the small things", and it works to add all this tension. The quiet inevitability of the reveal makes it feel like the M/L established relationship is a forever-and-always thing, and Sara is finding her place in their orbit.

I more or less wrote a reveal scene for The Sum of the Parts, which is M/S/L too, but I'm not really a fan of the exercise *g* In this case, since the fic is titled On Tacit Grounds, it sounded about right not to have things said out loud. I'm glad it worked for you :) And you're right about the tension, I guess the fact that she doesn't know exactly what's going on makes it easier and harder to bear at the same time. (And she/we shouldn't know, I struggled with myself when writing the little companion piece last weekend not to be too specific!)
