Sanae squeaked. That man was huge. And intimidating. And huge. Her brain had to restart for a moment before she finally started to speak. Oh boy...

"Um, I'm Sanae, Jio's friend? I was coming over to help cook for you guys today?"

Mr. Wick's face visibly went slack at "Jio's friend". He was so busy wondering about when Jio had made a (girl?)friend that he almost didn't hear the rest of what Sanae had said. He recovered as best he could.

"Well, um, I'm Galileo Wick, Jio's foster father. The brat didn't mention anything about you coming over, but you can come in anyway." He looked over his shoulder and called back into the house. "Jio! Your friend Sanae is here!"

Jio appeared at the end of the hall, still wearing his trenchcoat and scarf, even at home in the warm weather. "Oh yer here? Kitchen's back here."

"Y-yes, sir!" Sanae bowed quickly and politely, stepping out of Mr. Wick's way as soon as she could. She felt like he was going to crush her at any moment. No wonder Jio was so tough looking with an influence like that around the house...

Once she was in the kitchen with Jio, she couldn't help but whisper. "Your dad is huge!" she spoke in strained shock.

"Mr. Wick? He ain't my dad. He's jus' holdin' me here."

Jio looked around the kitchen and the open pantry cupboards.

"So ya got any ideas for what ta make? There's a shitload'a stuff here but I 'unno what ta do with most'a it. 'Parently I can't jus' cook up some rice an' be done with it."
