Who: Kamina, Masked Rider Where: An empty road on the edge of town When: 10pm, May 20th What: Kamina's been challenged to a race by a mysterious biker Warnings: Illegally high speeds
A challenger? This was certainly a nice break from all of the boredom that finals and mountains of homework had in store for him. At the very least, it would be one hell of a story to tell Orihime and Nia later on...as if he didn't already have enough.
It took him no time to get to the appointed meeting place, recklessly speeding through the streets as usual with the fire of adrenaline running through his body. He didn't know how good tis guy would be, or what to expect but he was at least hoping that whoever it was would offer some good sport.
Upon arriving, Kamina's bike screeched to a halt not to far from where the masked challenger waited. He really couldn't recognize this guy from school or from anyone he had raced before, but that didn't matter much. He came here to race, not play guessing games after all.
"So you're that guy eh? Dunno who the hell you are but you're gonna have one hell of a hard time beetin' Kamina of the Great Gurren Brigade!"
The Masked Rider was silent, afraid that saying anything would let Kamina figure out who he was too soon. Instead, he pointed to the traffic lights and settled into a riding position. The light was red straight ahead and green on the crossroad. After a moment it changed to amber, then red.
The moment the other light changed from red to green he was off, not checking to see if Kamina had gotten the message.
The road eventually led to another set of traffic lights some distance away - the obvious end of the race. For now though, the first part of the road was straight, and the Masked Rider used it to build up some speed.
((OOC: Feel free to make up whatever turns and features you want. It's not a particularly tough run, especially for someone as experienced as Kamina, but it's not too boring either.))
"Heh, straight to the point eh?" Kamina smirked while quickly slipping his helmet on. It didn't take much to figure out what was going to happen next, so he spin his back tire to get his bike into a ready position.
As soon as the light turned green, it was on. Gurren's engine roared as it speed through the intersection to start the race. Of course he was off to a good start since his bike was pretty well tuned, leaning into the first curve with ease while maintaining a decent momentum.
The Masked Rider had a bit more trouble with the first curve than Kamina and fell slightly behind. There were no cars in sight, so he tried to regain the advantage by crossing to the opposite lane and taking the next curve on the shorter edge before moving back into the right-hand lane.
He felt a thrill in doing something so clearly illegal and wondered if a certain influence was responsible. He pushed the thought out of his mind; he needed to focus on the race.
