From: Kyu Umma <3
Subject: -
Don’t bother picking me up and sending me home starting from today. I’m currently busy.
Take a good care of Donghae.

Siwon woke up to the worst morning of his life as he read the cause of it all, before his hand quickly pressed the call button, which was as expected.

“Appa? Wonnie appa? Appa!” Donghae, who was crawling around his father called out at his father’s distressed face.

“Oh, Hae, your umma won’t be going with us starting from today and he didn’t pick up his phone. What should we do now, Hae?” Siwon rubbed his face, feeling miserable.

“Umma?” Donghae looked at his upset appa with wide-eyes.

“We will have to look for him ourselves. What do you think, Hae?” Siwon carried his son out of the house and into his Audi before speeding towards the place where it all started; the bus station.

After waiting for ten minutes, Siwon started to grow anxious at not seeing his object of affection as he kept dialling the lawyer’s number.

“Appa, appa, Wonnie appa, umma?” Donghae looked at his father expectantly.

“We will meet him tonight, Hae,” Siwon sighed as he drove to the daycare, no sign of Kyuhyun at all, even at the younger’s usual stop.

Worst day ever.

•°•°•
“What happened to Kyu umma? Donghae kept crying the whole day, calling his umma,” Jessica frowned as she put the wailing baby on Siwon’s hands.

“I-It is just a misunderstanding,” Siwon chuckled nervously and said his farewell before entering his  car.

“Yeah, hope it was just a misunderstanding, right Hae?” Siwon tugged the still-crying baby safely in the baby’s seat. “We will definitely meet Kyuhyun tonight,” Siwon said to his son, and the boy stopped crying.

Less than thirty minutes later, the flashy sedan stopped in front of Kyuhyun’s skyscraper building, not far different from Siwon’s own. An hour of waiting later, Siwon was just going to retire for the night, when his eyes caught the man he was searching for.

Only to be embraced by another man, taller than Donghae’s umma. It wasn’t really an embrace since the stranger only wrapped an arm around Kyuhyun’s shoulder, but still, it was terribly intimate in Siwon’s eyes.

“Hae, wait quietly alright?” Siwon took off his safety belt and decided to approach the man, when said man suddenly laughed at what the stranger said.

All thoughts of meeting Kyuhyun instantly vanished, and Siwon had never felt this empty and cold before. It was like someone just dumped him with a cold ice water, or maybe even a huge ice block.

“Appa? Umma?” Donghae stared at his father inside the car and at his favorite person outside the car with curious expression.

“He never even laughed freely like that in front of me,” Siwon muttered as he rested his head on the driving wheel, cautious enough not to press on the horn.

Lifting his head, he saw the man he yearned for entering an unknown car, definitely that stranger’s car.

“Appa! Umma! Umma!” Siwon turned to look at his son to see the younger pointing at the leaving car.

“We can’t follow him, Hae. Kyu might not even want to meet us anymore,” Siwon sighed and drove home, passing a few red lights on the way. The father was still wondering how he didn’t get caught by police.

The single father carried the sleepy baby down before bathing him and tucking him to the baby’s crib without much interaction between the two, where usually, the father would coo and tickle his son until the baby laughed before tucking the child to bed.

“You are so messed up, Won,” Heechul shook his head as he put the packs of can beer onto the coffee table, where there we already empty cans.

After the baby had been lulled to sleep, Siwon had toaken out all of his beer and soju stock, setting it up on the table, before calling Heechul and Hangeng, earning a grumbling Princess-Chul from the other line.

“Hyung,” Siwon nodded a greeting before sipping his drink again.

“Where is baby Hae?” Heechul sat on the couch opposite to his best friend and beside his boyfriend.

“He is asleep,” Siwon rubbed his face before bottoming up the can.

“What happened, Won? I have never seen you this depressed,” Hangeng frowned in worry as he looked at his best friend.

“I don’t think Hae will have any time soon,” Siwon shook his head and drank another sip of the alcohol before his drink was taken away by a disapproving Heechul. “Hyung!”

“You are not drinking anymore until you tell me what’s going on,” Heechul put the half-filled can on the glass table with a loud sound.

“You know that I pick Kyuhyun up every day and send him home every night, right?” Siwon started and saw both guests nodding their heads. “He messaged him this morning to not pick him up nor send him home again starting from today. He said he was busy,” Siwon smiled bitterly and shook his head at the thought of the haunting message.

“Have you tried calling him?” Heechul asked, looking most serious Siwon had ever seen him.

“What do you think I have been trying to do in all my free time today?” Siwon looked at his hyung with desperation.

“Maybe you should wait?” Hangeng unhelpfully suggested.

“I saw him tonight, after picking Donghae up from the daycare, I went to Kyuhyun’s office. He was there,” Siwon paused.

“Did you approach him?” Heechul inquired.

“I couldn’t. He was with someone else, and they were really close. And he had never laughed for me like that before,” Siwon lifted up his can of beer again before Heechul could prevent him and drank again.

“But that is impossible! Kyuhyun doesn’t seem like the person to play with someone!” Heechul opened a bottle of soju instead and poured it into a glass before drinking it up.

Five bottles of soju and eight cans of beer later, Hangeng dragged a drunken Heechul who was pointing at an equally drunk Siwon.

“You! You need to confront him, Won!” Heechul pointed to the drunken CEO. “And you should bring back Hae’s umma, alright!” Heechul punched his arm to the air as Hangeng dragged him out the grand house.

“Yes, Hyung!” Siwon punched his hand to the air too as he shouted, before immeidately droping down to the couch, falling asleep.

•°•°•
Beep. “Good morning, Mr. Choi, this is Secretary Kim, I am just checking up on you. Today, you have no schedule, but do you need any help, Sir?”

“Appa! Wonnie appa!”

“Hae...?” Siwon woke up and instantly held his head with his hand. “Shit!” the man cursed before slapping his mouth with his free hand and glanced at Donghae, who thankfully, was too focused at the fish plushy in his crib.

Siwon pressed the dial number on his phone and requested a day off, perks of being a CEO.

“Appa!” Donghae called, demanding his daddy’s attention.

“Not now, Hae, appa needs to...” Siwon immediately puked his guts in the toilet bowl before he splashed himself with water from the shower.

Twenty minutes later, the man wiped himself with towel before wearing fresh clean clothes, although the man’s face was still far from fresh. He was tempted to call someone to help him take care of his son since he wasn’t in the state of mind and health to do that. Someone who understood his son so well... someone like... Kyu.

Siwon’s mood plummeted and it was even worse, hearing Donghae’s cry.

“Hello? Leeteuk-hyung? I kind of need your help. Can you take care of Hae today? I feel unwell right now,” Siwon called his neighbor, whose house was just a few feet away.

Five minutes later, a dark brown haired man with a taller big-built man entered the house, followed by a five-year old boy, who ran into the house with a monkey doll.

“Don’t run, Hyuk,” his dad warned him and the boy immediately stopped running.

“Thank you so much, Leeteuk-hyung, Kangin-hyung,” Siwon closed the door and rubbed his sore head.

“What are you thinking? Drinking when you have a baby you need to take care for,” Kangin grumbled as he saw Siwon’s condition.

“Drinking?” Leeteuk looked at Siwon then his husband.

“I know when someone’s having a hangover,” Kangin shrugged as he walked towards Siwon’s fridge to grab some cold soda, while Leeteuk busied himself with baby Hae.

“You go take a rest, Won. I will be taking care of your son here,” Leeteuk told the house owner.

Siwon nodded and entered his bedroom, drifting back to sleep.

•°•°•
The next time Siwon woke up, the sky had set, and Siwon could hear faint noises outside his bedroom. The man sat on the bed and drunk the painkiller provided by Leeteuk on his bedside table, before slowly making his way out of the dark room. The CEO squinted at the light in the living room, before he spot a laughing Donghae who was currently playing with Eunhyuk, his neighbor’s son.

“Ah, you have woken up. Dinner is on the dining table. We have eaten, so you go eat,” Leeteuk told the taller as he sat beside his husband and watched the currently popular variety show on the TV.

Siwon put his plate of food on the coffee table as he sat opposite to the couple and checked his phone. There were lots of messages, but none interested him.

He pressed the call button and waited, still no answer.

Sighing, the man continued to eat, gulping down the supposed-to-be-delicious food, although it tasted bland for him. Alcohol and heartbreak had that kind of effect.

•°•°•
The next morning wasn’t that much better from before, although Siwon’s health reverted to normal.

“Hae, let us go meet umma,” Siwon strengthened his resolve as he carried his son - after he had the baby’s diaper - and entered his car.

It was fortunately Saturday, so Siwon had more chance to meet Hae and his favorite person at said person’s house.

Thirty minutes later, the Audi was parked in the apartment’s parking lot. Siwon had only ever entered the apartment lobby twice, when he brought baby Hae in, and when he picked up the baby.

Willing himself not to run away, he carried the babbling baby and entered the apartment lobby before taking the elevator to Kyuhyun’s floor. The apartment wasn’t new and grand like Siwon’s but it wasn’t really that old either. It had a homey feeling for Siwon, but maybe that was because Kyuhyun was there.

The hallway was quiet, save for little Hae’s babbling about his Kyu umma and appa, as Siwon walked towards Kyuhyun’s room, located at the second end of the hallway.

Just as the taller was going to open the door, the door swung open and hit Siwon’s face, fortunately, the baby was saved.

“Ouch!” Siwon reflectively shouted.

“What is-Siwon?” Kyuhyun walked out the room and looked at Siwon with wide eyes.

“Who is it?” another voice followed and Siwon looked at the skinny guy behind Kyuhyun with a glare.  That guy again...

“I think... I will just wait in your bedroom...” the skinny guy noticed Siwon’s glare, and hell, that was even scarier from the horror movie he watched last night, before entering the said room

“So... what are you doing here, Won?” Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow, his face confused.

“You have a boyfriend now?” Siwon started, surprising Kyuhyun who only stared at the other stonily.

“So you have, You should have just told me that, Kyu. I would have understood,” Siwon smiled bitterly, the pain in him even greater than the bump on his forehead.

“What?”

“Sorry to waste your time all this time, Kyu,” Siwon tightened his hold around his wailing son before turning around, leaving a stunned Kyuhyun.

“What the hell! Choi Siwon!” Kyuhyun’s hurried footsteps could be heard as he ran after the distressed single parent and his upset crying baby.

“Choi Siwon!” Kyuhyun grabbed Siwon’s free hands and forced the taller to face him. “What are you talking about?”

“You have been ignoring my phone calls, messages, and I saw you with that guy! You even entered his car!” Siwon looked at Kyuhyun with desperation.

“My phone’s dead. It was soaked by the leaking water in my apartment. And the guy you saw is Changmin, he is my best friend, and he already have a boyfriend and they live together. The reason I told you not to pick me up is because my room would be under renovation because of the leaking roof, and I am currently leaving with them,” Kyuhyun explained calmly, raising an eyebrow at the dazed Siwon.

“What?” was the only thing Siwon could think of.

“It is not what you think all this time. Creating a scene in front of the apartment and spouting those things like that,” Kyuhyun folded his arms as he frowned at the embarrassed Siwon, although the younger’s face had a faint blush.

“T-Then you don’t have a boyfriend, right?” Siwon smiled widely.

“Did you hear what I have said the last few minutes?” Kyuhyun rolled his eyes.

“I’m so glad,” Siwon sighed in huge relieve before hugging his object of affection, squeezing the poor lawyer between his huge built and his baby.

Speaking about his baby...

“Umma! Kyu umma! Umma!” baby Hae laughed as Kyuhyun cooed at the little boy.

“I missed you, Hae,” Kyuhyun smiled genuinely at the giggling baby and carried him.

“We all miss you too, Kyu,” Siwon smiled affectionately at Kyuhyun, earning a deep blush from the latter.

The moment was broken when Changmin cleared his throat. The tall guy was holding a stack of boxes.

“So, um, where should I put the boxes?” Changmin asked, clearly uncomfortable and still half-scared at Siwon.

•°•°•
“I’m sorry for scaring you like that, Changmin-ssi, I got the wrong idea,” Siwon rubbed his neck in embarrassment as he apologized to the cackling boy sitting opposite to him.

“It’s cool man, just call me Changmin. You are really scary, though, but no offense,” Changmin kept laughing hard, until Kyuhyun smacked him on the back.

“So you are Choi Siwon? The single parent Kyuhyun always talks about?” Yunho asked from beside Changmin. The man had returned from buying duct tape for Kyuhyun’s boxes when the scene happened.

“I don’t always talk about him!” Kyuhyun protested, while Siwon grinned like a mad man.

“Your son is so adorable, Siwon-ssi, no wonder Kyuhyun easily opens up to you,” Yunho pinched the happy Donghae’s cheek lightly, earning a giggle from the baby.

“Just call me Siwon. I still don’t think Kyuhyun is easy to woo, though,” Siwon chuckled as he earned a light punch from Kyuhyun.

“But, Kyu, why don’t you tell me about it?” Siwon asked Kyuhyun who sat beside him.

“It is nothing to worry about,” Kyuhyun waved his hand.

“But look, Kyu, it create more trouble,” Siwon referred to what Just happened. “Why don’t you just move to my place? You can’t bother the couple,” Siwon motioned to Changmin and Yunho.

“T-That’s unnecessary!” Kyuhyun shook his head.

“You should Kyu. You are disturbing my sexy time with Yunho,” Changmin cackled at his boyfriend and best friend’s horrified expression.

“I have a spare bedroom, Kyu,” Siwon looked at Kyuhyun hopefully. “And Donghae needs you.”

“Umma!” Donghae stretched his hand to Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun sighed as he took the baby from Yunho’s lap and looked at the happy baby.

“Kyu umma~” Donghae smiled at Kyuhyun with his gummy smile.

“Alright,” Kyuhyun sighed and Donghae hugged the man tightly, emitting a light chuckle from the man.

“Aw, look at you, marrying someone so fast, I feel like a father sending off his daughter,” Changmin fake-wiped his tears, earning himself a pillow thrown by Kyuhyun.

•°•°•
“So this is your new room, Kyu,” Siwon opened the door wide, showing the huge guest room in his house.

Kyuhyun, who had been amazed by the very huge house, was even more amazed by his new guestroom, which was three times larger than his own bedroom in his apartment.

“Umma!” Donghae snapped Kyuhyun out of his daze.

Kyuhyun pulled his suitcase into the room, followed by Siwon who was carrying three boxes at once.

“You can put your clothes in the wardrobe, Kyu,” Siwon told him.

“I’m just here for a month. Two months top,” Kyuhyun frowned at the other man.

“No harm in doing that, Kyu,” Siwon chuckled as he put down the boxes.

In the end, Kyuhyun’s clothes were neatly hung in the wardrobe.

•°•°•
First morning in Siwon’s house, Kyuhyun woke up to the best smell, or maybe it was just because he was hungry that time.

“Good morning, Kyu!” Siwon’s cheerful noise filled Kyuhyun as the latter walked out the bedroom and to the kitchen. “Breakfast’s ready.”

Kyuhyun yawned and rubbed his eyes, before his eyes darted to baby Hae who was crawling on the floor.

“Why don’t you teach Donghae how to walk? He is old enough to learn walking, no?” Kyuhyun squatted down to play with the boy.

“Kyu umma. Eat!” Donghae, who already picked up a few words babbled, earning a laugh from the guest.

“Then why don’t we teach him together?” Siwon suggested as he put the plates of food on the dining table.

Kyuhyun put the baby in the tall seat and sat down opposite to Siwon.

“Such an irresponsible appa,” Kyuhyun shook his head with a smile as he started scooping rice onto his plate.

The younger than ate a few spoons of the delicious food before starting to feed the hungry baby.

“Open your mouth, Hae, eat,” Kyuhyun cooed before slowly feeding the boy.

Only in a few minutes, the baby’s plate was empty and little Hae was burping.

When Kyuhyun turned back to eat his own food, he saw Siwon looking at him with the look that always made his stomach churn and his heart beated faster.

“What?” Kyuhyun barked out.

“Nothing, nothing,” Siwon smiled widely and continued eating.

Kyuhyun proceeded to grumble while eating.

“So, I was thinking we should bring Hae out today, maybe the botany garden, what do you think Kyu? Siwon asked when the plates were already empty.

“Park! Park! Umma, appa, park!” Donghae chanted happily.

“Fine, I will prepare myself first then,” Kyuhyun smiled and pinched Donghae’s chubby cheek before leaving for the guest room.

Twenty minutes later, Kyuhyun emerged from the bedroom wearing causal clothes, that no one would ever thought he was a lawyer.

“Stop staring at me,” Kyuhyun scowled at how Siwon was staring at him shamelessly.

“Oh, sorry, Kyu. You just look different since I always see you wearing suit and well except when you are wearing your pajamas,” Siwon grinned as he buttoned up Donghae’s baby cloth.

Kyuhyun hid his blush as he prepared Donghae’s baby bag and the happy family was ready to go.

•°•°•
“Here,” Siwon held out a box to Kyuhyun as the taller started his car.

The family had stopped earlier to have their lunch in a classy cafe by the road and now they were ready to continue their journey to the recreational site.

“What is that?” Kyuhyun frowned but took the box and opened it.

The  box revealed the latest smartphone model which must had costed a fortune, even he won’t buy the model with his above-average fee.

“Your phone broke down, right? That’s for you. I bought it earlier when I excused myself to the restroom,” Siwon explained as the car started to move.

“I can buy it by myself,” Kyuhyun put the phone back into the box when suddenly Siwon held his hand out to stop him.

“I know you can, but take that as a birthday present from me,” Siwon winked.

“My birthday is still a few months later,” Kyuhyun retorted.

“Then as your last year’s birthday,” Siwon added.

“You are really an idiot,” Kyuhyun shook his head but kept the phone.

“I know that, but this idiot attracted you, no?”

“Of course not! Stop thinking of nonsense!” Kyuhyun lowered down his head to hid his tomato face and fiddled with his new phone.

“I even have my number there.”

“I will delete it.”

“Hae needs you, Kyu.”

“Umma!”

“I hate you so much, Choi Siwon.”

“Kyu umma, saranghae!”

“Donghae never said that to me before!”

“Saranghae, Donghae.”

“Said that to me too, Kyu!”

“In your dreams.”

In short, the family had one of their best weekends, and Siwon had never felt this fulfilled in his life.

•°•°•
“I’m so tired!” Siwon huffed as he threw himself on the couch while Kyuhyun put the asleep Donghae in the baby room before joining Siwon on the couch.

“You need to get ready to sleep, Won,” Kyuhyun told the older but sat down beside the other and closed his eyes.

“Good night, Kyu,” he could feel Siwon’s breath as he slowly drifted off.

•°•°•
It was a loud cry that woke the-soon-to-be couple up. Siwon and Kyuhyun both jerked up when they heard the cry, which Kyuhyun immediately scooted away from Siwon as soon as he realized his head had been leaning on the older’s shoulder.

“I’ll go,” Kyuhyun murmured before walking into the baby’s room.

Siwon smiled at the thought of repeating the scene every day, it felt like they were married.

Soon, the house went quiet again, and Siwon faintly heard hushed voices. Curious, the single appa walked towards the baby room and heard the most melodious voice he had ever heard.

Kyuhyun was rocking his son on his arms and was singing a lullaby. Siwon smiled fondly at the scene as he listened to the beautiful voice of his almost-lover.

I love you, Kyu.

It is not too fast to say that, right Kyu?
