make poverty history

don't know if anyone else saw the vicar of dibley special last night, but i thought it was one of the most powerful tv shows i'd seen for ages, im still thinking about it now and have been quite a bit since it finished last night. for anyone who didnt see it, it discussed the issue of poverty and really just pointed out that WE can actually do ( Read more... )

it was a really powerful episode....richard curtis who writes it is the president of make poverty history so i guess that's why they did it.

i'm hoping to go up to gleneagles myself in july, because i'm sure there'll be some sort of demo.

i feel really positive about this year actually...don't know why considering the fact that everything i've been a part of in the last couple of years e.g the anti-war movement has been ignored...it just seems like this year we have some big oppurtunities!

i'd like to go up and demonstrate too, that would be really good. i feel more optimistic about this year too, i think maybe it's because we've seen the public really make a difference with band aid 20 and give so much for the tsunami appeal in the last few weeks, and how the government have been forced to raise their contributions because of this, its showed that we do have the power to do something.
