a little italy, a pinch of castle sentimentality

dearest claire,
that's so cool that you're going to see that play! did you read those philip pullman books (golden compass etc)? i really loved them in a scary obsessive way, and i read about the play a few months ago. there was some controversy about the way the books were adapted and even more controversy about the story itself (it slams the church pretty hard and shamelessly). you'll have to tell me about it!

your honors presentation sounds really interesting! do you think race is real? we talked about racial performance and the criteria for whiteness in my asian american lit class on wednesday. i think that in a few hundred years people will look back on racial distinctions and identities with disbelief and horror, and we'll all be happy and brown. well maybe. :)

i can't believe that i'm going to see you in just THREE WEEKS. i'm so antsy to get on the road for a home that will be filled with all the people i miss so much, especially you, babe.

love,
veronica
