Oh, god, yes... I've certainly done that! AND I use waterproof mascara, so it dries instantly in raccoon formation, necessitating judicious use of mascara remover and a cotton swab. Lately I've taken to just stifling any sneezes right after applying mascara. I know you're not supposed to do that, but there you are...
I, too, use a waterproof mascara (Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes), and it's notorious for taking its own sweet time to dry. I've put my glasses on immediately after application, only to end up with mascara smears on my lenses. Actually, I sneezed about a minute later, not immediately, but the result was the same... raccoon eyes! Blech!
Hey, while I've got your ear, so to speak, what kind of makeup remover do you use? This is a tenacious mascara, and the brand I have been using (Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion - Hydrating) doesn't remove that damn mascara thoroughly enough.
I used to use Lancome Bi-Facile, which was good, but somewhat pricey. I currently use grapeseed oil from the grocery store. As oils go, it's lighter and has less of an oily feel than most. It's inexpensive compared to makeup removers. It works fast and thoroughly. Plus grapeseed oil helps build collagen. I even dab a wee bit on my eye area after I wash my face as a moisturizer.
i'm sorry this happened, and i'm sorry you were annoyed. and i'm especially sorry that i might have giggled when i first read it. *prostrates self to beg forgiveness*
