I saw the movie as well, but I always prefered books. In the books Anne never went looking for Gilbert during war, so I was like, it's not book adaptation, it's a totally new story ;)

Nine, but the eight is really about her daughter and the ninth is a compilation of diffrent stroies about people from Avonlea.

I love Anne's philosophy as well. And the fact that she didn't give up easily :)

I loved the anne of green gables series! I never owned the books because my mom made me use the library and luckily they had all the books in the series. Those were such good books. Seemed very realistic and not just a sappy love story.

I've reread these books so many times! My copies are in a really bad shape :P The same goes for Harry Potter books ;)
And you are right they seemed realistic, and like, idk, timless. At first I didn't get the fact that the story was happening at the begining of the 20th century (maybe because I was 10 lol) ;)
