For him, it all began and ended with Wishes - that was what his vision of the world had been crippled to. Every living being, he saw them stripped to their core - even worse than naked. Some Wishes barely smoldered, like the tip of Sakurazukamori’s cigarette, some burned brightly, almost blinding - like fire reflected in Kamui’s eyes. He could hear the Earth writing and screaming under his feet, demanding, pleading - a lover being continuously denied her release.

Wishes built up exactly like sexual tension and exploded and faded away after being granted. Wasn’t it only fair for him to partake in some of it, to have this small self-indulgence? It felt as it should feel - a little death, sweet release, soaring up into the sky.

He imagined it would be the greatest form of release - finally, freedom, even for someone like him - to grant Kamui’s Wish. Thinking of that made his hand move faster.

He came with Kamui’s name on his lips.
