A light, breathy chuckle answered. ‘But, Kuro-sama…’
She gritted her teeth. ‘No, witch.’
And turned away from the hurt she saw flare in those blue eyes. Fay could pout all she liked. No meant no right now.
Kurogane scowled. No would mean no for the next few days too.
She hefted her wooden sword, and strode to the centre of the wooden training floor, took up her stance. Her back was straight, her arms steady; nothing at all gave away the fact that at that very moment, she felt as though some invisible opponent had stuck a rusted blade into her abdomen and was proceeding to drag it back and forth. Horribly, agonisingly slowly.
A thousand sword strokes. That was the best way to deal with this particular problem. It was how she’d always dealt with it, ever since the cursed… curse had befallen her at age 12. Fay looked back at her, and beyond the half-lids, the gaze was steely.
‘Every month Kuro-martyr wears herself out doing something like this, when she could quite easily take something for the pain and stop being so grumpy.’
Kurogane looked away. Not this again. It was an old argument, but only since, well, since four months had Fay been so damned persistent about it.
‘Tche! If it happens in a primitive world, you can’t take anything, can you?’
‘We’re not in a primitive world now, Kuro-cramp. Besides, that’s why Mokona looks after it for us.’

‘And if you’re in a battle situation?’ Kurogane glared at Fay, keeping her face smooth against the red-hot poker rummaging in her abdomen, because she was determined to get her point across this time; because not everything unpleasant could be shrugged off ( ... )

A hand pulled across the back of her neck, fingers sliding into her bound hair; a wave of heat ran prickling down her spine.
Some distant part of her brain suggested training could wait.

She shifted, blinked, and groaned as she realised she had fallen asleep. Fay was heavy and warm against her chest, and she might have been tempted to stay if not for a vague awareness that something - people learning things, maybe - would want this space soon.
‘Oi. We need to get up.’
A soft but definitely resistant moan answered. Kurogane frowned.
‘Come on. Get up.’
And then sighed as the witch burrowed further into her chest. She really shouldn’t have fallen asleep with her shirt open, but they’d been so tender and then Fay had…

Love how it's set post-series and that all of the characters went through gender-bender (even Amaterasu and Souma). I never read a fem!KuroFai where it's like the canon but just with the switch of gender.
While it's in a way sweet Fai said that the blood is as much a part of Kurogane...I have to agree it's disgusting to be eaten (when really, yeah, she had to feed on Kurogane's blood before, but bleh).
And gosh darn it, Kurogane's got a point. Any Syaoran should know by now to knock before entering.

Ha, ha, I do understand the bleh factor. Fay just ended up with the blood on her, and so I kind of thought, weeelll, he did eventually get to a point in canon where he felt pretty comfortable with Kurogane's blood... what the hell. Plus she knew it would piss Kurogane off nicely. :D But yeah, don't think I would've gone there without the (former) vampire thing.

though I have to agree with Kurogane's saying that licking the blood was disgusting. I get what Fai's saying, too, but still. It's from /there/. /dies

Ahaha, yeah, it was a kind of "ah, what the hell" decision to include the blood licking with the (former) vampire and her prey. :D But I did want to see the look on Kurogane's face when it happened, of course.
