Um...

Well? To answer your question, yes, I am missing a considerable amount of time-- at a rough estimate, six to eight months' worth. And I hate to say it, but I... don't recognize your name. I'm assuming we met sometime after I moved here?

Oh, of course. Please forgive my presumption.

You and I met on April 20, at Teaspoons, the cafe. I gave you my word to help you, then. I intend to keep it.

If you're missing six to eight months, does that mean you don't remember your time in Aternaville at all? Has anyone explained to you the somewhat... unusual nature of this place? If history is to be trusted, there's a very good chance that this memory lapse will pass on its own in a few days to a week.

If it doesn't... One of my friends once had amnesia after being hit by a car. He managed to regain his memory. I picked up a few tricks then, hopefully they can help you.

Meanwhile, this must be very distressing for you. Is there anything I can do?

We met... April 20th. So I know I was here then...

We're in Canada, right? Are there really unusual things that happen in Canada? ... wait you think this place is responsible for giving people amnesia of varying levels and amounts of time? And that it will just... go away in a week or so?

...your friend was hit by a car? Good God, what happened? Was he all right?

Yes, by then at least. I don't know the exact date. Maybe Wesley Crusher could help you with that. You had been working with him on his research before you and I met.

We're in Canada, but the fact is, really unusual things happen in this particular town in Canada. Once I woke up in someone else's body. It resolved itself. They usually do. Since this phenomenon seems fairly widespread, my instinct is that it's another of this town's 'quirks'. If so, there's a very high probability of its passing on its own. Though of course I can't promise anything ( ... )
