It just doesn't make sense to me that she's dead because although the show is called "Castle", it's about the relationship between Castle and Beckett. Witness protection doesn't make sense to me either, because there's no way she'd be happy doing anything other than being a cop (although of course it would have to be temporary for it to not totally change the premise of the show.) However, the idea of her faking her death makes some sense because there's definitely someone above Lockwood and Montgomery in this thing (Montgomery didn't put that money in Ryker's account), and thinking that Beckett is dead would certainly give him a false sense of security. All I know is, it's going to drive me nuts waiting until September.
