XMen First Class
Huh. So THAT's what a film looks like when text masquerades as subtext. Good to know.
And yes. I liked it.
A couple of thoughts:
1. Yup. Charles and Erik. We all knew it was coming...we all knew it was going to be epic...but wow. Not just the inevitable slashy-ness of it all (even my boyfriend leaned over during the movie and said, well, that's quite the bromance), but the inevitable disintegration of their initial partnership. It's a lot to get into one movie, and maybe I'd like to have seen a longer "courtship," if you'll pardon the phrase, but I appreciated how it was done.
2. Wolverine cameo. Brilliant!!
3. January Jones as Emma Frost...meh. She LOOKED the part, but Jones' acting left me...forgive the pun...rather cold.
4. Fassbender. Hot damn!! Yes, I'll take Magneto please. Wow.
It's late, and that's all I got...what have you thought of it?
