Maybe she would have done better with the herring receipes I translated from the Swedish for her back in the early '80s.

(Mind you, having done the work and sent her the results, I never heard from her - not even a thank you, so perhaps when she saw what the receipes actually were, she decided that they were not her cup of tea.)

Well, Swedish herring recipes do vary. It didn't involve a cannery and instructions to open the result under water, did it?

Completely off topic, the perfume I was wearing on Saturday is called a 1,000 Kisses Deep, from B Never. Just thought I'd type that in before I forgot, as you expressed an interest!

One does have to wonder just what she's been eating for the last thirty-five years.

Also, was she actually dissing Ramsey on the grounds that in her day they used fresh, local, seasonal products? I step back slowly from the crazy-sauce (aka 15-year-old marmalade)....
