Snow day

There is something about heavy snow that brings out the best in people. I'm sure it brings out the worst too, but I don't want to focus on that. Maybe I didn't see it so much because I refused to drive. Forget it. Why ruin a perfectly good snow storm

Enjoyed this. I have no point of reference, mind you, so it's like reading about Katmandu or some other exotic place.

I had an "awwww" moment when you described that dog putting his paw up for you to de-snow. Like a kid. He knew his mommy would fix it. Awwww...See? Like that.

In the neighbourhood I like Urban Pear, Von's and Infusion. This was at Von's. It's nothing fancy but it's solid and I know all the staff. Well, I know them all at the other two places as well!

I saw the usual contingent of people driving like idiots. For some reason yesterday they all seemed to be driving late-model beige domestic sedans. There was a point where I thought it was the same guy driving past me over and over. What kind of idiot drives 60 km/h down Kilborn on slippery, partially plowed streets? Why not just jump off the peace tower -- it's more dependible and safer for the rest of us.
