I bought a new camera yesterday. I've actually downgraded from a DSLR to a compact - I got fed up of lugging all the gear around. I took it out and tested it today. Doesn't seem too bad...

It's a Nikon Coolpix P610. Soooo light and portable!

If Maisie doesn't wear pink everyone assumes she's a boy. She had a radical haircut a while back and it's FINALLY gorwn back to the length I like!

Thanks. It's a Nikon Coolpix P610. It's like a small DSLR but it has a fixed lens which does have a very good 60X zoom - the sundial was very high up but the zoom still took a nice clear picture. It's so much lighter than a standard DSLR and I'm pretty pleased with it. It has a large monitor and it can also take video. It also has wifi so you can connect to a smart phone and upload photos. Very hi-tec!!

Maisie looks marvelous. I'm glad you have a camera you like. I love mine but it's starting to show its age so I'm on the lookout for a camera that is lightweight but with a great zoom. This one looks pretty good!

This camera does have a good zoom - I'm still learning but I'll be out and about with Sue this week so expect more pics!

Okay, will want to hear about how the camera worked out for you and also what sue has to say about it (if anything).

Alas, I don't think I'll be in England this year. Am going to Scotland in June so I won't be coming further south. Will be driving all over, though. Will be thinking about your story when I do so.
