For people like us who don't really have a social life, this weekend of celebrations have left us feeling pretty maxed out:
Friday - Christmas dinner @ Scarlet Hotel with GT colleagues, where the theme was Oscar Night.
Being predominantly ang-moh, everyone took the effort to dress up so we had various characters from Casino Royale (the sheikh, Bond), Austin Powers and Travolta from Grease. Food was average, but the night was marked with hilarious laughter, good conversations with spouses whom I only get to meet one/ twice a year and just being able to have Hubs along for an evening out. Plus most colleagues were surprised to hear me 5 months preggie despite my outfit. Heh.
Saturday - marked the long-awaited wedding of 2 church friends whom I've known since secondary school. J&L date back to 1999 (imagine that!) and theirs is a relationship that has survived long-distances, different life phases and family backgrounds. Not many such relationships survive the test of time, and I'm immensely happy for them to finally walk down the aisle!
After the wedding service, Hubs rushed up to Compassvale to celebrate his BF's son's manyue while I skipped downtown to get Chloe's present. I'm so dead as it's 12th and I've got 20+ presents more to go.
Zipped home for quick change of clothes, went mass with parents before they dropped us off for the wedding dinner. Was happy for the opportunity to catch up with my church mates, whom I haven't had a proper conversation with since I got married.
Sunday - Finally some R&R time with the ohana.
