I was thinking about Blake and White today as I heard the story of the "Lost son" (Luke 15). I thought that perhaps White and Blake would think that there are a number people out there in todays society that are lost.  Lost, in the sense that they don't know who they really are. "So how do we know who is really lost?"

Maybe no-one is lost?
Perhaps each of us have our own path that we need to follow...
Maybe we will all reach the same destination...maybe we won't.
Perhaps the journey is more important than the destination?

I agree with you, its hard to judge who is lost because as you said each of us have our own point of view. Life is different for all of us, and perhaps it isn't really anyone's place to judge whether a person is lost, nor be angry at them for 'being lost'.
In Riders in the Chariot I believe that the four riders were connected because they accepted each other's paths in life, whereas the rest of Sarsaparilla looked down on the riders. The rest of the community such as Mrs Jolley & Mr Rosetree believed that Miss Hare, Himmelfarb, Dubbo & Mrs Godbold were lost...simply because they refused to see a path that differed from their own.

I agree with jen that we are all on different journeys. The characters we have all now loved to pieces in Blake and White brilliantly show the truth doesn't unfortunately always mean people get the message. I think Clare that you have touched on the issue that no matter who thinks they are right (and both could be right) the thought, as you state of who was lost will never be resolved unless we allow ourselves, I feel, to be found by the people who truly love us and look out for us and lead us back on the right track.
