So, shortly after my last post, my internet died. Or rather, it passed out and went into a coma a few days later and totally flatlined after another week. Have you ever had a phoneline that didn’t have dial tone? It is the creepiest thing ever.

And all this when it’s raining in San Francisco which means it’s flooding in So Cal which means ATT is sending busloads of techs down south which means a shortage of techs in both places. And my neighborhood has cheap ass infrastructure that is difficult to repair. But after one phone tech, one DSL tech, three or four cable techs and a month, I finally got internet back and have spent the past two weeks catching up on projects I’ve been meaning to do. Here’s hoping it lasts till the next winter. *cheers*

So, how have y’all been doing?

I finally figured out what it is about Smallville’s “Luthor” that is bugging me:

I read a bio about Fred Phelps’ children and there’s a statistic in there that only 1 out of 4 abused children overcome their background and break the cycle of violence. And in real life, his children have fallen into that pattern looking at how many have left the compound vs. how many have stayed. And you could say about “Luthor” that Lex, Tess and Clark didn’t escape and that statistical fourth child simply didn’t exist in that alternate universe.

But shouldn’t Clark be that fourth child? If we want to believe that he is so innately good and optimistic, wouldn’t overcoming the abuse inflicted by Lionel have been a good example of that?

It might seem like you’d need to sacrifice the total evil that Lionel is and the absolute power he has to portray Clark overcoming that. But I don’t think so. Just a simple 5 second scene with a tilt of the head as dark world Clark meets primary colors world Clark… Just enough to show that there is something at least potentially redeemable.

I really wanna slash Tess / Lois but damn it, Clark is in the way. And unfortunately, it’s not like you can easily fridge Clark, heh. Some fic popped up with “Luthor” but, I like primary colors world Tess better. She has much more power and influence and she forces Lois to bring her A-game. Oh well.

And I’m hyped for the hiatus break this Friday. So hyped that if the CW pulls another stunt like they did last Friday, I’m gonna have to spork some voodoo dolls - after I buy or make them of course.
