"social" and "life" don't belong together in the English language right now

I just made up a "study schedule" for the next 8-10 weeks and am beginning to grasp the concept of NO life... my boss isn't going to let me out of experiments, I need better data so I don't embarrass myself and/or my boss at a national meeting, and I have a proposal that needs major re-writing (but at least I have a sort of rough draft to go on) ( Read more... )

I tried calling last night but the line was busy. Maybe I should post my schedule/to-do list til Dec and we can commiserate. ;-) But always remember that things will get done, and even though this IS a major event in your education, at the same time it's only a small portion of your life - says the person who's trying to finish a paper so she can study for a test that will be the greatest factor in determining if she can even get into law school, much less afford it.

In the midst of everything, please do take care of yourself . . . you know, eat well and get a decent amount of sleep each night. ;)

I'm concerned about the negative self-talk, especially since I struggled with it so much last year. Is there someone you trust that you can open up to in person, and release some of those thoughts to? It's amazingly effective to expose those thoughts and get someone to pray - don't fight them on your own, 'cause I think it's true spiritual battle.

Hugs! And it's true, God's grace is so precious - especially in a time of weakness as you're feeling now. In a way, it's such a blessing to know God's paradoxical strength (in the midst of great weakness) so intimately. :)

I "found" these verses afresh last year as I read the psalm as a whole, instead of focusing on the oft-quoted "Creation" passage in the middle: Psalm 139:1-2, 17, 23-24. Hope they're an encouragement.
