As a nurse, i cant even tell you how nice it is to work in a facility like the one your dad is in now, where you have the support resources and the people who are committed to truly helping their patients. ive been stuck in hospitals before, working in a place where your dad was and its a nightmare, especially being a witness too. you can just see and sense the attitude atround you, that people dont really respect your wishes and when push comes to shove, you are up a creek without a paddle.
im so happy for your family that he is where he needs to be. multiple myeloma is a nasty nasty disease (you did say thats what hes got, right???) and it sounds like you can relax (just a bit) knowing that the staff there respect his wishes and care about him.
