i have to admit i was rather surprised by this decision. you'd think they would've taken the opportunity to expand the game and japan were so eager to host it. maybe they'll get it next time, maybe?

Yeah, I hope so, even though that is 10 years away! I really thought New Zealand would be third on the list. They don't even have one stadium big enough for a World Cup Final. But they are proposing to build one, I think. Eden Park is the only one that holds 50,000.

well, they better get moving on it. i wonder if australia will be asked to host a game or two. there's no way nz has enough stadia.

Definately not. Their other 'big' stadiums don't hold more than 35000. And there are only three of those. Tickets will be hard to come by if that is the case.
