I've been working a little bit the last couple days on a project for a former coworker. He's offered around forty dollars an hour for a PowerPoint presentation on software he's developed and will be hawking to laboratories. It's sooo fascinating. Anyway, assuming he pays up, I'll have made a couple hundred bucks, and my only cost is a couple ( Read more... )

Aren't you glad I forced you to watch the mini before Season 1? Sadly, I was spoiled for hte big reveal, because I saw 1.01 prior to seeing the mini, but I was thinking that for the unspoiled, it would've been a mind-blowing "Oh man, they are SO fucked" moment. And it sounds like I was right.

The only non-understandable thing so far has been how Six got off Galactica after her attempted frame of Baltar. WTF? They explained almost everything else the entire series, but now Six just has a transporter or something? That ticked me off, 'cause I hate loose ends, and that felt very deus ex star trekky to me.You mean the Shelley Godfrey Six, right? If the Cylons consider their individual bodies expendable because their consciousness and memories will be uploaded to a new body after their physical deaths, she might very well have put herself out an airlock or into a waste incinerator. OMG, yes. And I did have that "so fucked" moment. In fact, I was surprised how early they revealed the Boomer plot to the other characters. I'd have thought they'd save it a little longer. Although, I guess it was about a year for viewers, so that might have felt longer. And the tension would have been much more drawn out, with Sharon caressing the plane and getting tested and such, if I'd had to wait for every week, rather than having it happen in the next hour when I clicked on the file.

, she might very well have put herself out an airlock or into a waste incineratorThat's a very good idea. I hadn't thought of that, because I didn't see them as expendable. But it appears that, among the Cylons we've seen, Sixes are the least worried about the individual body. Sharons appear to be a bit attached, and even Leoben delayed his death both times as long as possible. Ooh, except for the short guy. He didn't seem to give a crap when he blew himself up. Yeah, it can ( ... )
