He turned his eyes skyward to find that there was no sky to speak of; he could only see the mammoth brick buildings to either side stretching up taller than his gaze could follow, and beyond that was a dark blanket of smog that caught the light of the city below.  He could tell it was night, but the moon and the stars were all hidden from view.

Hi! It's me! Just letting you knonw I'm still reading these, if slowly. I don't know if you want critiques on these or what, but my only recommendation her is start less sentences with 'he'. Thank you, goodbye!
