I'm not dead, and I haven't forgotten about my LJ. Really. It's only that the internet situation has been a bit unpredictable, and I now no longer really have internet at all, even a shitty connection. But a walk to the laundromat about 100 feet away gives me a good signal, so there's that. The plan is to try and get real internet this week, but

I hope your phone keeps working. With the internet being like it is, that's the only way I'll be able to get hold of you. Maybe it would be better to wait to get internet if things are so tight, much as I loathe to make such a suggestion?
