"ACTIVE SHOOTER ALERT. TAKE SHELTER IN PLACE."

These are the words I have been hearing for the past three hours or so. The alarm went off around 1:15 a.m. and has been going strong ever since.

Now, when I first heard this alarm, I was scared. Active shooter? That's some pretty heavy stuff. I certainly didn't want to play witness to one of those ( Read more... )

YEAH. Wow does it ever sound like your school needs to prioritize. That sounds scary too. The part where the guys showed up four hours after the fact bothers me less than the fact they put the alarm off an hour and a half later. Most people, hearing that sort of alarm, probably did just what you did. But without such an alarm people whould be wandering every which way.

But also some thrill-seeking part of me is thinking "WOW WOULDN'T IT BE COOL TO HAVE A SHOOTER ALARM?" And how funny would it have been if while you were looking out the window at that squatter, if some SWAT guy just up and appeared outta nowhere and rugby tackled her into safety?

School alarms are always annoying. At least it wasn't in the middle of the night like the fire alarms.
