The Green Death

Okay, time for The Green Death, my last Instant-Pertwee arc. *sigh* Again, I miss him already.

Wait a sec, this seems to take place immediately after The Three Doctors, because they're talking about the TARDIS working properly again...

Also, the audio is slightly out of synch. Crap.

Never mind, working again.

If it wasn't for the age difference, I'd say Three and Jo made a cute couple. Also, synch problem seems to be recurring but fixable-ish...

"This fellow's bright-green, apparently. And dead." I really like the Brigadier.

"Jo, you've got all the time in the world. And all the space." Listen to him, Jo. THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SERIES.

Also, might not keep up a commentary this time. Busy wrestling with the audio problems.

"So...the fledgling flies the coop..." *gets into TARDIS and leaves* Aww, poor Three...losing another companion...

So the Doctor goes to a planet of blue things, gets attacked by EVERYTHING EVER, and goes back to Earth to pick up the phone. THIS SHOW.

I'm still trying to figure out Bert. Is he getting sweet on Jo, or is he just a creeper? Also, Doctor in cherrypicker = win, for some reason

YES. MORE TIME-FU. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

"Venusian Aikido, gentlemen. I do hope I haven't hurt you." The Doctor is the best person always forever.

OH SNAP. I think Three's getting jealous of the long-haired hot-shot scientist who's stealing his girl. I mean...companion.

Gradually inching my way along in The Green Death. WOAH THAT GIANT MAGGOT JUST LEAPED UP AND ATTACKED A GUY. JO, PLEASE TURN AROUND.

THE COUNTDOWN. MINE-BLOWING-UP TIEMS NAO.

"Theyre'll be no more of these creepy-crawlies, that's for sure." *everyone stops and stares at Brig* Scientists + soldiers in the same room

Wait why was there a woman in a bathrobe walking around the company base I don't even

AHAHAHAHAHA Three's glasses-and-mustache truck-driver disguise FTW.

Oh wait, even better: MILKMAN!Three. Also, I'm calling it now: the fungus kills the maggots.

"Would you like a nice cup of arsenic?" ...wow, Jo.

OH. OH NO. NO. WHY. WHY ARE YOU SHOWING US PERTWEE IN DRAG. WE NEED TO SEE THIS EVEN LESS THAN HIM IN THE SHOWER.

Third Doctor dressed as a window-cleaning lady. Will my eyes ever recover?

"...Don't say one word."
"......I like your handbag."
Okay, scene forgiven and redeemed. Also, Yates looked WAY too eager to see Three.

FUNGUS CURE. CALLED IT.

And just when I thought "I am the boss" was going to be followed by "I am the Master"...it wasn't. "I am the computer!"

Finishing Green Death tonight. OH GOD PLEASE DON'T LET JO AND JONES DIE HORRIBLY TOGETHER.

Whew. Okay, they're safe-ish in the cave now.

"The following statement is false. The above statement is true." HOLY SHIT HOW DID I KNOW THE DOCTOR WAS GOING TO DO THAT.

Owned and OWNED.

Mind control does not work on Three! "I'm just doing a few sums to keep myself from getting bored. Now let's see, Pi...3.14..."

Three is making a 70'S COMPUTER mad by effortlessly resisting mind control. That. Is. Amazing.

ESCAPE BY MILK TRUCK. My god, Three is one of the most badass fuckers ever.

Random Yates with gun!

Alien mind-wipe sapphire crystals? Doctor, what DON'T you have?

Last episode of Instant-Pertwee!

So now evil-overlord computers hum to themselves while their minions work? Nice.

1) OH SHIT GIANT FLYING BUGMAGGOTTHING. 2) Just. Feed. Jones. The fungus. YOU'VE ALREADY FIGURED OUT THAT IT'S THE CURE. USE IT.

WOW WHEN DID YATES TAKE THAT MANY LEVELS IN BADASS.

How do you stop a giant mutant bug? By throwing Three's coat on it. BECAUSE HE'S THAT AWESOME.

"We should've arranged for the symphony orchestra to herald my triumph!" 35-ish years later, the Master proves that this would be awesome.

Why are musical bad guys always the BEST. THING. EVER. on this show?

First Oscar Wilde quotes, then classical music, now metaphors. This is quite a cultured evil computer.

D'awwww, Jones is going to live!

All I can think of during this scene is the bit from Spongebob with "LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT IT! I WANT ALL OF YOU TO LOOK AT IT!!!"

So the villain sheds a tear for his computer "friend" and...wow, they're really good at blowing shit up in this arc.

Jo and Jones getting married and then exploring the Amazon? ...wow, I can tell this is a little much for Three to take in at once.

Wait...MARRIED?!? They just met a few episodes ago!

So Three drives off forlornly into the sunset, alone again. Don't worry, Doctor. You get Sarah Jane Smith next!
