Not at first, at any rate. I was sooooo looking forward to a Master/Dalek story, and was sooooo disappointed.

As you noted, The Cell. It's one giant padding. And I don't mean shoulder pads.

Yeah, Delgado mocking the Daleks was funny. RIP.

I think if you were going to show a Pertwee story to a New Who fan, it should probably be either Spearhead or Three Doctors. Maybe Inferno if you're feeling ambitious.

Yeah, this is basically the serial of Jo being an awesome badass and adorable. And the Master being more or less the same. JO RESISTING HIS HYPNOTISM. THE MASTER COMING TO TAKE HER AWAY FROM ALL THIS. THE MASTER FAKING SLEEP AND THE DOCTOR CALLING HIM OUT ON IT. They are both precious treasures. ALSO DRACONIANS. As far as the alien races in Who go, I am terribly fond of the Draconians.

Also, incidentally, as far as height goes, Katy Manning is 5 foot even, and Delgado was 5'7. It's just that Katy wore ridiculous shoes all the time as Jo. Can you imagine her next to 6'4 Pertwee *without* her platforms?

Jo is a companion I would gladly spend an afternoon exploring antique shops with. I forget where, but I remember seeing the clip of her doing the nursery rhymes a couple years ago, but I didn't know I'd have to wait until Delgado's penultimate episode to see it. Which reminds me, Planet of the Daleks will be my last Jo story (since I did The Green Death waaaaay back when I first started watching Classic Who).
