Quote: “In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Since I was a kid, my family listened to the Beatles on every single car trip. I definitely took this quote to heart because I really believe in karma. On my college application, I actually put this in because I feel like every single part of your life can be summed up to this: the nicer you are or harder you work, the more you’ll get out of life because people will like you, admire you, respect you, and reward you.

Opinions: We look at your opinions by the way you support them, not exactly what your opinion is
Paris Hilton: I honestly don’t care too much about Paris Hilton. It annoys me, however, that so many people look up to her when she’s just an awful role model. She parties all the time, is (seemingly) completely materialistic, and has absolutely nothing to really look up to. I wish that instead of Paris Hilton, girls (and guys) looked up to someone a little more intelligent who also is famous because of something they did, not who gave birth to them.
Britney Spears: Britney Spears… I respect how far she made it in the music industry. To be quite honest, I love a lot of her songs because they’re catchy. Too many people hate her for showing her body… but in an industry where almost every girl who’s made it to the top has had to make their clothes tighter and tighter, I’m not surprised she was pushed into it. A lot of people don’t realize how cut-throat the music industry is: these labels could easily have dropped her in an instant back in the 90s if she didn’t agree to make certain lyrics, dance certain ways, and dress provocatively. I respect her success, though I personally don’t understand why she married Kevin… :D
Drugs & Alcohol: I don’t do drugs, and I don’t drink a ton of alcohol. I think that drugs are unacceptable, especially because they’re illegal. I don’t really understand why people would let themselves start something that is addicting and would kill them because it’s addicting… On the topic of alcohol, it annoys me that so many teenagers act like the only way you can have fun is if you’re drunk. I think being drunk is really unattractive… having drunk people hit on you is the worst (in my opinion) and I wish people would be less obnoxious about drinking alcohol. I think it’s fine… in moderation and in good taste.
Livestrong: I definitely support cancer research. I know that it was a fad to wear the bracelets and a lot of those people cared more about being cool than about supporting something as important as cancer research, but at least their money went to a good cause.
Gay Marriage: I am a pro-choice person in everything, I don’t think that the government has any right to say who you can marry, especially because it isn’t specifically stated in the Constitution. Honestly, if gay people bother you, don’t look. Why should somebody’s happiness be prevented because some other people disagree with them?
Labels(as in people and cliques): Labels are pretty immature and naïve. I definitely used to label people a lot, but I realized a long time ago how snobby and rude that is. I’ve been labeled everything under the sun, but the truth is, everyone is their own person. I’m eclectic from my music choice to my wardrobe to my friends. I haven’t really thought about cliques very much since 9th grade, especially because I’m the kind of person that has good friends in many cliques. I’ve never really gotten the impression that cliques are very important, especially because I’ve eaten lunch with almost every group at my school.
Money: I care a lot about money because I think that it’s the only way to achieve my dreams. I have dreamt of starting a some sort of charity or aid program for Eastern Europe (I was born in Romania) since I was in elementary school. I never really thought about money being an issue among friends until this year, when I befriended some people that weren’t AS well-off as me (not that they were poor or anything). It’s frustrating when people make money a big deal and act like you’re a snob because of your taste in clothes or where you live, but if you try not to make it a big deal, people around you will realize that they’re wasting their time bothering you about it.
Who is your role model and why: My role model is my brother; we’ve been close since I was born. He used to be the best at everything, and I was constantly jealous of him, but loved him regardless. In 10th grade he was diagnosed with bipolar depression and adhd on top of a broken arm from a really bad football accident. Since then, he’s been struggling with the game of life, but he never gave up. He is always making music (a couple of my favorite bands above are his) and he’s probably the most artistic and creative person I know. I’m convinced that he will make it in the music industry and he’s my role model because he hasn’t given up.

3-10 CLEAR pictures of you (not links!):

This Christmas with my best friend’s little brother, Drew. I’m sporting my new RL sweatshirt/pants and his Christmas present to me, which was a RL scarf!

vacationing in the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC! We went to this great market and I got lots of jewelry (which I obviously had to put on :D)

my brother and I, before he cut his hair

sporting my chanel sunglasses that I got in the streets of ny… though after careful consideration, my friends and I realized that we think they are real ones that were stolen…?
If you could have any 3 wishes granted, what would they be?:
1) my brother’s success in the music industry
2) Romania’s economic success
3) For him to ask me out again, because this time my answer would be yes.
Why are you a prep?(explain please!): On the surface I am a prep because of the way I dress. However, the real reason I am a prep is because I am a confident and classy young woman who has been well-educated. My friends and I are intelligent, have real conversations, and care about real issues. I am well mannered and I try my best to follow etiquette. I try to be nice to everyone and break the stereotype that people that wear my clothes are snobby and mean. I am classy but still fun and fairly laid-back.

What makes you not a prep?: Probably the fact that I straighten my hair almost every single day and I have the tendency to wear sweatpants when I’m feeling lazy, even to school.

What contribution will you make to this community?: I’ll be really active and post as many fun shopping trips/wish-lists/fun quizzes and other things that people would enjoy reading or doing. This community looks perfect for me; I think the people here are more focused on the real definition of being preppy (classiness, confidence, intelligence) rather than how much money you spend or the stores you shop at. Also, it’s active and I’m a pretty active lj-er.

Any last words?: Thanks for reading my application! I know I wrote a ton, but hopefully it was worth reading :)
