So what have I been up to for the past year?

Apparently on my last real entry I mentioned that my laptop wasn't starting up: for a month or so after that I thought I got a fatal virus or something, but then I had my dad look at it and he figured out that my hard drive had stopped running

i tried to add you as a friend so i could msg you but maybe if i comment here you'll read it. i was reading the posts on that lj wish community and if you haven't fixed your harddrive i may have a way for you to recover the files off of it.. let me know if you are interested!

Oh, yeah, definitely interested! For whatever reason I've never really used private messages on LJ so sorry if I have notifications there turned off or something.

ok well i'm not sure if you guys retried to reimage/reformat your laptop and erase everything off - but as long as you didn't do that you can buy something like this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=drivewire&hl=en&cid=3287751827409419774&ei=49dxTIftB5SKxAX_m7WVCg&sa=image&ved=0CAgQ8gIwADgA#p (I recommend that one because I know it works.) And basically one end plugs into your hard drive and the other plugs into a usb port. I'm not sure if you tried something like this already but sometimes just the operating system on a hard drive goes bad.. it might be worth a try as long as you dont mind spending the $30ish for something that may not work..

Huh, that definitely sounds promising. Actually it would probably be a good idea to have something like that around my house anyway. Thanks a lot for the tip!
