End of 2007 Memes

January: Songs of the moment...really more songs by the artist of the moment-ani difranco
February: my account balance is $80 in the red...with no $ to put in it until wednesday or thursday.
March: been in rehearsals for Showboat-yay 14 hour days 6 days a week.
April: So since the theatre gods aren't really smiling on me at the moment for whatever reason, it's taken several weeks and a lot of stress but I finally have plans through the fall.
May: so here I am again...and I've decided to leave Naples in Naples. I'm done. it's over. no use reliving the last 3 hellish days. Though one perk for sure-had irish coffees and made seth bacon and eggs for breakfast one morning. (Ok I know it's more than one sentence but it's one of the few good memories from the NDT)
June: So two days ago i had that fucked up dream that woke me.
July: In Your Face!!!! That's for all those who doubted me or anyone else who had the desire to pursue their dreams of working in theatre. This morning yours truly got a job as the Stage Manager for the first national tour being sent out by Childsplay, a children's theatre in Tempe.
August: Well I left Phoenix on the 19th and had a terrible overnight flight back to Pittsburgh.
September: My 4th professional show credit is National Tour Stage Manager.
October: I know it's been forever since I've updated, but this job has consumed my life.
November: My best friend in the entire universe just told me he found out yesterday that the bump on his ear (which has been there for a long time, but got bigger after he went on a cruise in august) is skin cancer, and he's having surgery on december 18 to remove it and they won't know until the remove it and do some tests or something how bad it is and how much it's spread....and how much of his ear they'll have to remove.
December: Well I'm officially 24. The day was long, but the celebrations were good.
1) Where did you begin 2007? In the theatre at NDT getting drunk with servers and patrons and bosses alike
2) What was your status by Valentine's Day?
Single
3) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
Nope! WOOHOO!!!!
4) How did you earn your money?
Interning at Naples Dinner Theatre (which barely qualifies as making money), serving at the Rainforest Cafe in Tempe, Stage Managing the Tomas and the Library Lady National Tour.
5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Yup, twice, both in Naples on workmen's comp. First was torn cartilidge in my right knee, second was for numbness in my right middle finger which was diagnosed as carpal tunnel, but then didn't get any better so I went to a walk in clinic and got diagnosed with tendinitis in my wrist and got a week's worth of steroids.
6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
No
7) Where did you go on vacation?
Pittsburgh, Canada
8) What did you purchase that was over $1000?
Are you kidding me?? I've never even had that kind of money lying around!
9) Did you know anybody who got married?
Nope
10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
Nope
11) Have you run into anybody you went to high school/primary school with?
Completely randomly ran into a girl from high school, Katie Barr, on Halloween on a corner in Chicago
12) Did you move anywhere?
Yup, Tempe!
14) What concerts/shows did you go to?
We Will Rock You in Toronto; The show Lauren M designed lights for at Pitt; Pillowman and Homeplace at the new Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, and a godawful show called Family Values at the Minneapolis Children's Theatre; My first Cirque du Soleil show, La Nouba at Disney
15) Are you registered to vote?
No, they don't let us Aliens do that
16) Who did you want to win Big Brother?
Never seen it thank you
17) Where do you live now?
In a Ford Econoline cargo tour van and hotels...but my mailing address is Tempe still
18) Describe your birthday?
Worked, got serenaded with Happy Birthday by an audience of children, went to a very nice restaurant and martini bar with Gina and Marcos which was subsequently payed for by Childsplay 'cuz Adam felt bad about our per diem being late again. Marcos gave me a bunch of Harry Potter stuff and Gina gave me a wool cap that she crotched and trimmed with alpaca wool from the llama farm B&B we stayed at in Michigan, and a shot of Petron.
19) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2007?
Survive Naples w/sanity intact; Move to Arizona; Get tattoed; Get a well paying theatre job; get a job as the stage manager of a national tour and drive around the country in a sexy white van; Get my eyebrow pierced
20) What has been your favorite moment?
Getting hired by Childsplay, Getting to come home again for Christmas.
21) What's something you learned about yourself?
That I can handle a shit ton of responsibility pretty darn well

Nope
