Korra

Anyone been watching? I'm just blown away by how good these last seasons have been. Also, my love for old!Toph is eternal. I definitely understand not wanting to let the older characters dominate the narrative, but man, their older selves are just so perfect. Kinda wouldn't mind a special that'd just be them all interacting at some reunion or ( Read more... )

I'm behind! And now something big has happened and I can no longer avoid spoilers! Sucks to be me, but it's my own fault for not catching up sooner. :P

Anyway, I'm planning to go on a Korra binge in January and remedy this situation.

Book 3 is just really, really solid and a huge pickup from Book 2, tbh. Book 4 is pretty much spectacular, AND THE FINALE.

There's a number of comics detailing what's been going on with TLA people post finale, ie the search for Zuko's mom, etc.

Oh yeah, I know about the comics (they're on my "one day, buy the trades" list) But I want cranky old people. (Well, you know, maybe not cranky, relative to their natural dispositions. But I want to see the geezers all together).

I think book 3 may hold up better in retrospect (at least in being more tightly constructed), but I certainly had no complaints about season 4. Totally blew me away.

Yeah, I'd like to have seen the remaining members of the old team together for one last time- even if more than half of them aren't around anymore and it'd be nothing more than nostalgia, but still.

Book 3 I'd say is the best paced/constructed one, mostly because how things (remarkably) manage to fall into place really quickly, whereas Book 4 acts as much more the epilogue for Book 3's major events.

And I've heard that there were some extra hurdles in production for season 4, which made things less than ideal.

In my latest old people head canon, after the spirit portals were open, Zuko creakily wandered in, looking for Iroh to say hello.
