[ Kakashi was told that this device was called the "Hitomi" and that he could view dreams on it. He was warned by Madara-sama that there might be some dreams that won't make very much sense that the enemy has planted into the network, and to ignore any dreams with him in it. And that any dreams from Akatsuki are allowed to be commented on, but only privately.
Madara-sama also told him to go "make some friends."
Whatever that means.
Kakashi's not sure why Madara-sama wants him to have friends. He's a weapon. Weapons don't need friends.
But Deidara-san's dream was surprising. He remembers meeting Sasori-san last night, and wonders if this really was a dream or a memory.
And so, Kakashi's expression is quiet. And thoughtful. ]
Deidara-san....
[ His voice is quiet. He doesn't know if this is what Madara-sama means by "making friends." He hopes it is.
There's a rather lengthy pause because he's not sure what to say. ]

[ Kakashi's expression grows soft, like the edge of his eye, gaze darkening. He doesn't remember ever losing anyone, but somehow he knows how it feels. There's an absence that's larger than life itself, spiraling and stretching and filling him inside, and he feels even more emptied out.
Like he's been hollowed twice.
He doesn't know why he knows this feeling, only that it's here now. Wonders if that is how Deidara-san feels about it, if it's true. ]
I didn't know people could come back after they die...
[ He says softly and it sounds like a condolence, almost. ]

[Deidara's still studying this empty little vessel for Akatsuki--no, more for Uchiha than Akatsuki. He's fought Kakashi, and he does not forget any he fights that get away. But this is not the same, and it's--curious, interesting, if somewhat unsettling in a way he cannot place.]
I didn't either, until I got here, un. Guess death doesn't last forever either.
[It should fit with his philosophies, but it's even more unsettling.]
[Sasori is just overwhelmed, seeing this, feeling this.
In the rare times he ever considered dying, he thought he would be forgotten, just as his parents had been forgotten and not spoken of by everyone else. It was almost like they had never existed at all, except for him.
It had never occurred to him that anyone would do something like this. That anyone would...
He may dismiss Deidara's artistic philosophy continuously, but it's not as though Sasori has never understood it. He disagrees with it, but he's always understood it. But saying that he understands is something that he never intended to say
( ... )
[Deidara knew Sasori would respond eventually, and wasn't sure what he would say. Deidara considers himself fairly good at predicting his partner's actions, but when dreams bring up things that were never meant to be said, it makes the situation strange.
It doesn't show on his face, though, for longer than a flicker of something softer than he usually displays. He doesn't notice it, though, and his smirk covers it up quickly.]

Did that really happen?

It might have, un. What if it did, hm?
[It's not his usual response. This isn't one of his usual dreams.
Even if it is one he's had several times.]
